The Aventador stirs passion in its styling, but its soul comes from its powertrain. The Aventador SVJ's heart is a massive V12 engine that sings up to 8,500 rpm. At this RPM this engine makes nearly 760 horsepower and 530 pound-feet of torque. When these power figures are combined with the four-wheel-drive system and seven-speed Haldex transmission, you get a 0-60 MPH time of 2.8 seconds. The Aventador SVJ does not stop there though, as it has a top speed of up to 217 MPH. That is firmly in supercar territory and is faster than nearly any other vehicle on the market.
Speed is one thing, but the Aventador SVJ is a master of all performance figures. It features massive six-piston brake calipers up front and four-piston calipers in the back. The brakes can bring the Aventador SVJ from 60-0 MPH in only 30 meters, and they feature carbon-ceramic brake rotors that won't fade on the track. The mid-mounted V12 has a dry-sump oil system that allows the engine to be mounted lower. This provides the Aventador SVJ with a lower center of gravity and better handling overall.
